The Black country echoes project was a professional exhibition, whic was held in conjunction with the Glass festival at the Ruskin center, Stourbridge.

The purpose of the project was to create a piece of work that was inspired by the Black Country. Industrial and mechanical parts which showed rust patination and metal material inspired me within devlopment. I was also interested in how horses were used for transport and how leather was used for saddles and apart of a large industry.

Through the process of the project, I wanted to look at processes within the black country industry. Metal casting was very popular within the Black Country era. I brought this into my project by creating bronze and alumium horse shoes.

The final piece was based on the saddle shape with coal and horse shoes, showing age by using patination and old leather.
